Lorenzo Musetti reaches the round of 16 of the Internazionali d'Italia. He beats the American Brandon Nakashima in two sets with a score of 6-4, 6-3. Now he will have to face the Russian Daniil Medvedev, champion in Rome in 2023.

It was an easy match for the world number 9, who got rid of his opponent in an hour and 24 minutes of play, conceding him only one break point, cancelled in the fourth game of the first set, which he took home thanks to a break obtained in the third game. In the second set the Italian took the lead with a break in the fifth game, and in the ninth he broke Nakashima's serve again, closing 6-3.

Everything was easy for the Italian, fresh from the final in Monte Carlo and the semi-final in Madrid, who has now established himself as one of the best clay-court players in the world.

Francesco Passaro eliminated, overwhelmed by the Russian Khachanov 6-3, 6-0.

Two more Italians are busy tomorrow in the round of 32 at the Foro Italico: Matteo Berrettini who faces the winner of Madrid Casper Ruud and Jannik Sinner, opposed to Jesper De Jong. Among the women, already in the round of 16 is Jasmine Paolini, who tomorrow will face Jelena Ostapenko.
