19th consecutive victory since the end of 2023 for Jannik Sinner. The Italian number 3 in the world goes to the semifinals of the Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells after beating the Czech Jiri Lehecka, defeated with a double 6-3 in less than an hour and a half of play.

On Saturday Sinner will face either Carlos Alcaraz, reigning champion, or the German Alex Zverev.

"I'm very happy with my performance - Sinner commented on his match -. In the morning it was really windy and in the first set it was difficult to manage the situation. Jiri has enormous potential, so I paid a lot of attention to every point played" .

The Italian, who appeared in splendid form, hit the break on the fourth useful ball already in the third game of the first set and then consolidated the lead (3-1). In the eighth game Sinner complicated his life a bit by offering a counter-break chance to his opponent, which was immediately canceled out with a powerful first shot and soon the score was 6-3.

In the second match Lehecka tried to use the court a little more without hitting every ball, but Sinner continued to govern the exchanges with extreme determination. The break came in the fourth game and then the blue confirmed the advantage by taking it 5-2. Poco earned two match points which Lehecka canceled out with as many first serves but was unable to do anything about the final game on the blue's serve.
