Sassari will host the series of meetings “Sardinia towards UNESCO”, a new way of telling the extraordinary and identifying uniqueness of the ancient Sardinian civilization.

It starts tomorrow at 6 pm in the conference room of the Fondazione di Sardegna with the meeting entitled “The Nuragic civilization seen by the Ancients: Daedalus and other stories”.

Speakers will include Giacomo Spissu , president of the Fondazione di Sardegna, Antonello Mattone, president of the Scientific Committee of the Antonio Segni Foundation, Salvatore Naitana, president of the Issla association, Antonello Pazzona , president of the Third Age University, Edoardo Balzarini , vice-president of the association “Sardinia towards UNESCO”, Attilio Mastino , former Rector of the University of Sassari, and Raimondo Zucca , Professor of UniSS.

The other evenings are scheduled for April 2, April 16 and May 16. «The nuraghi are not only a strong point but also a trait d'union of all Sardinia – explains Pierpaolo Vargiu, president of the association -. We are lucky: the nuragic heritage is the only resource truly present in all the municipalities of Sardinia, from North to South, without forgetting that the greatest concentrations of nuragic monuments are certainly not in the big cities, but precisely in those internal areas that, only by building new development opportunities, we can truly protect from depopulation».
