In Berchidda, the echoes of the XXXVIII edition of Time in Jazz have not yet died down, and the town is already all set for “What a Wonderful World in September”.

The finale of the August festival, held in Piazza del Popolo and across the rest of Northern Sardinia, will unfold over two days, Friday and Saturday, as a tribute to the festival's origins. "When the festival began in 1988, it took place in the first week of September. After a few years, due to colder temperatures, we moved it to Ferragosto. Today, we want to rewind and imagine a September festival finale," explains Paolo Fresu, creator and artistic director of Time in Jazz, introducing the new initiative which, along with the year-round activities of the Insulae Lab Production Center, further expands the cultural offerings of Time in Jazz.

Several events are scheduled for “What a Wonderful World in September,” which will take place in the open-air spaces of Sa colte 'e su 'oltiju, the garden next to Sa Casara, the headquarters of Time in Jazz. These include the presentation of a lifetime achievement award to Benito Urgu, a true icon of the island's entertainment scene; the presentation of Alice's book “L'unica via d'uscita è dentro,” the autobiography of one of the most celebrated and refined voices in Italian song; and plenty of live music with Erica Mou, Paolo Fresu in a trio with Nguyên Lê and Bojan Z, Francesca Tandoi in a duo with Stefano Senni, John De Leo with the Jazzabilly Lovers; a tribute to the great Sardinian artist Maria Lai by Angelica Perra, Gianluca Pischedda, Massimo Satta, and Moreno Pisano; and, to close the evening, DJ sets by Renton and DJ Cris.
