On Saturday, November 8th, at 11:30 a.m., as part of the Barumini Cultural Tourism Expo, Luigi Lilliu's new book, "The Treasure Chest. Stories, Facts, Contexts, People," will be presented. This intense and authentic account spans a life dedicated to service to the State and the common good.
The protagonist is a man born and bred in Sardinia, who with pride and a sense of duty wore the uniform of the Guardia di Finanza, rising to the rank of general.
Through pages of memory and reflection, Lilliu constructs an autobiography that goes beyond simple personal narrative: it is also a snapshot of the Italy of the past, a journey into the country's recent history seen through the eyes of those who served the institutions with rigor, but also with profound humanity.
Luigi Lilliu's book is therefore a testament to values and memory, but also an invitation to rediscover the highest meaning of public service and responsibility to the community. A story of life, ethics, and Sardinia, it paints a portrait of a man and an Italy that no longer exists, but whose moral legacy lives on.
At the presentation, journalist and writer Giacomo Mameli will be in conversation with the author, with greetings and an introductory speech by Gen. B. (res.) Cav. Dott. Adriano Siuni, National Councilor of ANFI for the Sardinia Region.
