How to face and prevent new pandemics: this is the theme of the event scheduled for Thursday 30 November at the Pula Science and Technology Park (Cagliari), where the world of virology met to take stock of strategies, innovations and new drugs .

The conference will also be an opportunity to bring together public research with companies in the sector that work on the development of vaccines and diagnostic systems, and to define the needs of the world of research, the prospects of technology and the role of institutions in preventing health emergencies caused by viruses.

The event - organized by Sardegna Ricerche in collaboration with the University of Cagliari as part of the strategic project "Next Generation Virology" - is divided into three work sessions. The first will be dedicated to the frontiers of public research in the national and regional context. The second will instead be an opportunity to present the projects financed by Sardegna Ricerche, while the third will focus on institutions, businesses and new technologies.

The works will open at 10 with greetings from Maria Assunta Serra - general director of Sardegna Ricerche - and Luciano Colombo - vice-rector for research at the University of Cagliari - and will close in the afternoon with a round table on collaboration strategies between the public and private sector in biomedical research.
