The prices of hotels in Italy soared. The alarm comes from Assoutenti according to which going on vacation "risks being a real drain this summer".

Among the seaside resorts, the record is set by Sardinia with 20.3% more recorded in the Olbia-Tempio area.

While among the cities of art in Florence there is an increase of 43.2%.

In the last month, the rates of accommodation facilities have risen on average by 15.2% compared to last year, with peaks of +18% for hotels and motels, while holiday villages and campsites cost 11.1% more, explains Assoutenti on the basis of Istat data.

The heaviest increases are recorded in the cities of art: after Florence, Milan is in second place, with rates growing by 38% on an annual basis. Surprisingly, among the cities that see the prices of accommodation structures rise rapidly, we find Campobasso in third place (+28.9%). Followed by Venice (+25.7%), Palermo (+25.3%) and Ferrara (+24.6%).

For seaside resorts, increases from +15% to +17% were recorded in Puglia and Emilia Romagna.
