Jannik Sinner won the ATP 500 tournament in Halle, Germany, thus winning his first title as world tennis number one as well as the first grass court title of his career.

In the final the talented Italian beat the Polish Hubert Hurkacz, world number 9, in two sets, with a score of 7-6 (10/8), 7-6 (7/2).

“Having won my first tournament on grass is a great feeling,” Sinner said after the match. Adding: «Now it's Wimbledon and I can't wait. Last year I reached the semi-final, this time we'll see but I will certainly have more confidence on this surface. The grass is a little different there but I will have a week to prepare."
