Everything is ready for the 44th edition of the International Jazz Festival in Sardinia “European Jazz Expo” , an adrenaline-filled lineup of international stars supported by a rich programme of special events taking place in the halls, terrace and foyers of the Teatro Massimo and the InOut Music Club on Viale Marconi.

The most vibrant three days of city jazz, scheduled from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 October, will be animated by the world-famous pianist Monty Alexander, the American trumpeter and winner of 11 Grammy Awards Phil Lassiter, the award-winning English saxophonist Nubya Garcia and the extraordinary New York vocal talent José James.

But it will be a long parade of famous musicians arriving for a sparkling edition as always organized by the patron Massimo Palmas with the contribution of the Fondazione di Sardegna, Cassa Deposito e Prestiti and the collaboration of the CTM.

During the upcoming weekend you will be able to enjoy a powerful mix of rhythms and musical styles coming from all over the world that vary from traditional jazz to contemporary, from world music to funky, transforming the spaces of the Teatro Massimo into the epicenter of an unmissable event.

Among the list of exceptional guest artists, you can also listen live to the famous guitarist, now English in action, Antonio Forcione Quartet, two icons of the modern British jazz scene such as bassist Gary Crosby together with saxophonist Denys Baptiste in Quartet, the versatile jazz trio led by Norwegian composer Helge Lien, accompanied by award-winning saxophonist Tore Brunborg, the very young European revelation Kinga Glyk, Polish bassist, composer and bandleader, and the eclectic Danish trio Ibrahim Electric.

Among the new features of this edition, the concerts until late at night to be enjoyed on the scenic terrace of the InOut Music Club in Viale Marconi. The live shows will start at 8:30 pm with two special sets: the first at 9:45 pm and the second at 11 pm, while the DJ sets will alternate at the console starting from 8:30 pm and will continue until late at night.

Those who want to reach the InOut on Viale Marconi, starting from the Teatro Massimo, can use the new CTM bus finder service which, thanks to the special app, will signal the night buses that will take you from the Massimo to the jazz club on Viale Marconi with a guaranteed return until the end of the shows.

A three-day event packed with concerts that will not fail to provide last-minute surprises, proposed as usual in the transversal formula of the Expo, capable of enriching the festival with off-show meetings and appointments.

In the Theater, between one set and another, spectators will be able to choose from excellent tastings of local wines, browse through the foyers set up with photographic exhibitions that refer to the photographic archive of the unforgettable Isio Saba, enjoy the evening concerts on the magnificent terrace of the Theater and participate in meetings with professionals, making the Massimo a true global village of live music.

The calendar also includes space for the little ones with a jam session included in the “Jazz through the eyes of a child” event , dedicated to the 12-24 month age group, and which will feature Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Carol Mello.
