Goodbye to Michael Gambon, the actor famous throughout the world for playing Albus Dumbledore in six of the eight films of the Harry Potter saga.
He was 82 years old: as announced by his family , he died in hospital, where he had been admitted for pneumonia. “Our beloved husband and father passed away peacefully,” wrote his wife, Lady Gambon, and his son Fergus.
Even before lending his face to the famous headmaster of Hogwarts school (taking the place of Richard Harris, who passed away in 2002) Gambon - Sir Michael, after the recognition of his knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998 - had been a protagonist in the theater , also as a refined interpreter of Shakespeare, in various TV series and on the radio, as well as in the cinema.
