With the death of Silvio Berlusconi the chapter of the succession opens in Forza Italia and, more generally, in the leadership of the moderate and pro-European center.

Many look to Matteo Renzi . Which, however, rejects the hypothesis of being able to represent a sort of successor to the Knight.

«Berlusconi has consciously chosen not to have an heir. He has never considered the hypothesis of a succession to himself,” Renzi explained. Adding: «A personality like yours, exceptional in the literal sense of the term, cannot be replaced».

Furthermore, Renzi assures that he is not aiming for the blue electorate: «It would be disrespectful to talk about it now. But it is clear that Meloni has a bigger space in the center to conquer and I would be surprised if he didn't try to occupy it ».

Pierferdinando Casini is on the same wavelength: «Berlusconi's political legacy – Giorgia Meloni has already taken it in the political elections in September – he explains to the QN ». And the alliance has already changed. "When Berlusconi took the field - Casini points out - there was the centre-right, today the right is in government".

With the loss of the leader, underlines Casini, a former ally of Berlusconi, now a senator of the Centrists for Europe, «Forza Italia will be in trouble like all parties in its conditions. It is clear that there will be sharks and little sharks».
