The Giro Donne 2022 will start from Cagliari on Thursday 30 June , to end in Padov on Sunday 10 July , passing through Sardinia, Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto.

An event, now in its 33rd edition , which in 2022 returns to the UCI Women's World Tour circuit thanks to all the teams and athletes who have always supported it and to the commitment and work of Pmg Sport / Starlight which for the second year consecutive sign the organization. Today the presentation in Cagliari.

"We participate with great satisfaction in this event - said the mayor Paolo Truzzu - for the important role in the promotion of the island and for the related activities that it contributes to producing for activities and commerce. A popular sport such as cycling is also a an important reminder for our young people, especially at a time like the one we are going through ".

Over 150 athletes from the best 24 teams in the world, including 13 UCI Women's WorldTeam teams, coming from Australia, Colombia, United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Norway, Holland, Spain, United States as well as from Italy United, Switzerland.

An exciting race in 10 stages along a route of over 900 km of great technical, historical and naturalistic value through the beauties of five Italian regions.

It starts from Cagliari on June 30 with an individual time trial of 4.7 km, which will cross the Molentargius Saline Regional Natural Park and the Poetto seafront, and then continue along the eastern coast of the island, first with an undulating stage of 117, 3 km from Villasimius to Tortolì (1 July) to end with a 112.7 km stage for sprinters from Dorgali (Cala Gonone) to Olbia (2 July).
