The Australian Kaden Groves (Alpecin-Deceuninck) won the fifth stage of the Giro d'Italia, the Atripalda-Salerno, of 171 kilometres, in the sprint.
In the sprint, the Italian Johnatan Milan took second place, ahead of the Danish Mads Pedersen.
The pink jersey of leader of the general classification remains with the Norwegian Andreas Leknessund (Dsm).
