Gigi Riva's Cycle Ride: Varese-Leggiuno-Legnano, the diary of the first stage

A short first stage (only 85 km) but full of emotions for the Ciclopedalata di Gigi Riva. Symbolic departure from the Varese station at 11, obligatory passage to Leggiuno, birthplace of Riva, where the mayor Giovanni Parmigiani and Didi Mazzoccato welcomed the small group of eight cyclists, who will increase in the coming days, until the arrival in Cagliari.
The stage ended in Legnano with a passage in the stadium that saw the exploits of a very young Gigi Riva with the purple shirt in Serie C and the greeting of the local authorities and of AC Legnano in front of the town hall.
