Gigi D'Alessio acquitted because "the fact does not exist" from the charge of tax evasion.
This was established by the monochrome judge of Rome in the trial in which the Neapolitan singer, together with four other people, had to answer for the accusation of having defrauded the tax authorities, not paying VAT and Ires, for about 1.7 million euros.
The investigation was born in 2015 but the facts date back to 2010. A partner of the Neapolitan singer and three legal representatives who over the years had alternated in Ggd Productions srl, a company attributable to D'Alessio were investigated with D'Alessio. Prosecutor had requested a 4-year sentence for the accusation of concealment of accounting records. During the indictment, the representative of the prosecution had asked not to proceed due to the statute of limitations in relation to two counts of accusation.
The singer rejoices: "Justice has finally run its course, it's a happy day because the truth has come out, after more than ten years of heavy shadows for me and my collaborators, in which we had to defend ourselves from unfounded accusations that they have muddied our seriousness and our work ". For the defendants, the lawyers Pierpaolo Dell'Anno, Giuseppe Murone and Gennaro Malinconico, “the sentence does justice to the man before the artist. The court of Rome, today, re-establishes the truth after ten years from the accusatory hypotheses, which have remained unanswered, recognizing the legitimacy of the artist's work, who has always believed that justice recognized the absolute legitimacy of his actions.
