Gian Piero Gasperini has signed with Roma: he is the new coach. The announcement was made by the Giallorossi club, which presents him together with his predecessor Claudio Ranieri (consultant of the club from next July 1st) and the sporting director Florent Ghisolfi. His contract runs until June 30th 2028.
"Gasperini's career has so far been characterised by innovative tactics, a work ethic and an extraordinary ability to develop players," Roma said in a statement. "The club's ownership and Claudio Ranieri are convinced that Gasperini is the right man for the job."
Gasperini thus begins a new experience on the bench, after nine years at the helm of Atalanta in which he achieved qualification for the Champions League five times, reached the final of the Coppa Italia twice and won the 2023-2024 Europa League. In his career he has also coached Crotone, Genoa, Inter and Palermo. His former assistant Ivan Jurić is expected to replace him in Bergamo .
