The best Italian wine for quality-price ratio is born in the heart of Sardinia.

In the Gambero Rosso Vini d'Italia 2024 guide, recognition is given to the Mandrolisai Rosso Fradiles '21 from the Fradiles winery in Atzara .

A winery which, explains the food and wine guide, «manages to offer us a memorable red , from old sapling vines with very low yields at a more than accessible price».

The winery, linked to Cannonau, Bovale and Monica, has a traditional and artisan style, the vineyards also exist above 700 meters above sea level.

At the helm is Paolo Savoldo , on the winery's website it is explained what makes this Mandrolisai so special: «The long sunny summers and a climate with little rain, exposed to sudden temperature variations between day and night due to the nearby mountains, create the ideal conditions that serve to fix the unmistakable aromatic content in the grapes. The land is made up of granite and shale weathering which has made it particularly suited to the cultivation of vines ."

Climate, soil and geographical position give the wine unique and specific characteristics, which can also differ from vineyard to vineyard. Nature, «combined with a wine culture handed down from father to son, allows the production of a typology that is perhaps unique in its kind» .
