Cagliari and Torres will also be at the start of the 28th edition of the “Manlio Selis” World Tournament – Sardegna Cup, scheduled from May 30 to June 2, with Cagliari also taking home the “Ragazzo del Selis” Award, already assigned to Roberto Piccoli.

The striker will collect it on May 19th at the Grand Hotel in Porto Cervo, on the occasion of the official presentation of the event. In the meantime, Gallura is warming up its engines for the “mundialito” for under-14 clubs, won last year by Espanyol de Barcelona: 32 teams from 8 nations are at the starting line, with the extraordinary participation of the boys from Lokomotiv Kiev, directly from Ukraine, and Flamengo, for the first time ever of a Brazilian team at the “Selis” .

From this year, the tournament named after the father of Enea Selis, organizer of the event, and dedicated to youth football with the sponsorship of the Sardinia Region, will be held under the Adidas banner. And this is just one of the new features of the four-day event that will bring the talents of the most important Italian and foreign professional clubs, and of amateur realities from all over Italy, to compete on the fields of Gallura .

Between Loiri Porto San Paolo, Monti, Budoni, Arzachena and Olbia, the venue of the final (the “Bruno Nespoli” stadium) , Atalanta, Cagliari, Milan, Genoa, Juventus, Roma, Inter, Spezia, Pisa, Torres, Espanyol (Spain), Talleres de Córdoba (Argentina), Flamengo (Brazil), Stuttgart (Germany), Lokomotiv Kiev (Ukraine), Sigma Olomouc (Czech Republic), but also Tor Tre Teste Roma, Romulea, Urbetevere Roma, Centro Olimpico Romano, Vigor Perconti, Levante Azzurro Bari, Emanuele Troise, Latte Dolce Sassari, San Paolo Sassari, Cos Sarrabus Ogliastra, Gr 11 Cagliari, Pirri, Olbia Academy, Porto Rotondo, Budoni and the Magic Soccer Toronto, a Canadian amateur team, will compete.

This year, the boys from the oncology department of the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin will return to the Selis fields together with those from the pediatric Oncohematology department of the Santa Chiara Hospital in Pisa for a special match that will take place in Budoni on June 1st. On May 19th in Porto Cervo, during the official presentation, the tournament groups will be revealed , and personalities from the world of sport, athletes, journalists, and professionals who distinguished themselves in the last season will be awarded.
