"With structural and non-structural interventions to protect the soil in the coastal area, with the safety, mitigation and prevention of hydrogeological risk and coastal erosion, as well as environmental redevelopment, we want to affect the reduction of the population exposed to risk and , not secondarily, to preserve and requalify the environment and the components of the territory as goods for safe use by citizens for the improvement of conditions and quality of life ".

Governor Christian Solinas declared this, after the green light for the resolution that has disposed of 2 million euros, for each year in the three-year period 2021-2023, intended for environmental redevelopment measures to protect coastal erosion.

The first part of the program involves Pula for the safety of the coast, the rocky ridge under the tower of Sant'Efisio and the archaeological area of Nora (750 thousand euros); Badesi for the environmental redevelopment of the coast in Li Junchi (600 thousand euros); Golfo Aranci for the safety of the coast of Cala Moresca (400 thousand euros); Santa Giusta for protection from coastal erosion and environmental redevelopment (250 thousand euros).

"With the appropriations for the three-year period - explained the regional councilor for environmental protection, Gianni Lampis - we want to act with greater sensitivity towards those territories, even contiguous to those where action has already been taken, in which the same situations exist. criticality, although not fully falling within or not included in the areas of basin planning. In fact, it is recurrent that the areas adjacent to those affected by significant hydrogeological defense works and contrasting coastal erosion, although subject to the same criticalities and instability, are not they were affected by works of connection or completion with the contiguous territory, with consequent degradation and an increase in danger, which often led to the permanent interdiction of the territory for public use ".

"The goal is to pursue the construction of new works or functional completion of works planned with community and state funds, operating defense actions on the territory to preserve and safeguard the coastal asset and therefore allow, in these vulnerable areas of environmental and territorial value , the pursuit of the sustainable development goals, which concern, among others, the fight against climate change, in line with the global agenda for sustainable development 2030 ", concluded the representative of the Giunta Solinas.
