In Sanremo with Sardinia in the heart and with the aim of surprising the public but also themselves. The Sbandaband, a rock group from Terralba, want to get serious, leaving for the national finals of Sanremo Rock, an offshoot of the more famous Sanremo Festival. They will take the stage of the Ariston theater in one of the scheduled dates, from 4 to 8 September, dreaming of reaching the final on 9 September. Together for only five years, the quintet composed by Andrea Zaccolo, Luciano Soffiato, Paolo Porceddu, Paolo Leotardi and Mauro Cicu has already collected numerous successes. The last one was last August 10th in Iglesias, with the victory in the regional selections of Sanremo Rock.

Now comes the real challenge for the group from Terralba, as the singer Mauro Cicu says: «The most difficult path begins, we know that the emotion of playing at the Ariston can play tricks, but we are aware that behind it there is a long work path. We are dedicating ourselves so much to music, we want to get to Sanremo to play with it with all our strength. We don't want to settle for regional victory. We're rehearsing our songs almost every day."

The Sbandaband will bring two very different songs to Sanremo: the new single Libera Cammini , a sweet ballad dedicated to women whose video clip, shot in the former marine colony "Francesco Sartori" on the Funtanazza beach, was released last June and Pistillone , the group's best-known song, a story with an ironic text and a playful style. Two different songs, united by the telling of personal stories in which everyone can identify and which have obtained a wide appreciation from Iglesias' audience and from the band's historical fans.

«Our sound embraces different musical genres, mixing elements of rock, pop, funk and much more. This fusion of styles allows us to explore new musical territories and to offer an engaging and surprising experience»: this is how the group describes itself on its YouTube channel. Again on YouTube, the affection of Sbandaband's listeners was shown: the video of Libera Cammini got around 29,000 views.

«We grew up doing evenings in the company of other groups. United by our passion for music, five years ago we started writing our own lyrics and composing our own music. We arrived at Sanremo Rock in March, when we sent one of our songs, which was liked by a jury of experts – says Cicu – We would like to record an album, once the experience at Sanremo Rock is over».
