With the rejection of Ancona by Covisoc and the repechage of Milan Under 23 in place of the Marches, which not even the appeal will be able to save, Serie C completes the picture of the 60 teams at the start of the 2024/25 season.

A picture that for the first time after 8 years does not include Olbia, relegated to Serie D at the end of the last championship. In reality, it was not necessary to wait for the outcome of the examination of the applications for admission to the Serie C tournament to understand that, barring a mass rejection among those eligible by the control bodies, the whites had little chance of returning among the professionals from the repechage door: the end-of-season ranking did not reward the Gallura team, who finished last in Group B with 26 points in the 2023/24 season, characterized not only by the terrible results on the field, but also by the corporate chaos following the transfer of deliveries to the presidency of the club between Alessandro Marino and Guido Surace, representative of the SwissPro group which acquired 70 percent of the shares of Olbia Calcio in November.

It is now up to the Swiss owners to unravel the tangle of debts and salaries in view of the registration for the Serie D championship, to be formalized between 8 and 12 July. Member fees must be paid by July 10th, under penalty of non-admission to the tournament. As for the salaries of non-sports employees, the company has already paid a first tranche of the April and May salaries: the rest should arrive in the next few days, in which Olbia will have to start planning the next season, starting with the team and the pre-season retreat, about which absolutely nothing is known to date.
