Sardinia is the Italian region where you spend the least on food.

This is what we read in an analysis by Coldiretti, based on Istat data, focused on family consumption in the food sector.

According to the study, Campania is the region where families spend the most to fill their shopping carts, ahead of Sicily and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Overall, in Italian homes, an average of 526 euros are allocated to food, 19% of the entire monthly expenditure, the third item in the budget after housing, bills and rent.

A percentage that is however highly differentiated if we go down to the regional level, so much so that the Campanians spend almost 200 euros more than the Sardinians. With an average monthly expenditure of 614 euros, the citizens of Campania are those who spend the most on food, according to Coldiretti, allocating 27% of their budget to food.
