The second day of Sonala arrives in Ovodda tomorrow. The countdown has begun for the second appointment of Sonala Folk 2023. After the well-attended event on November 3 in Lodine, the professionals of the island's musical world move to Ovodda. Tomorrow starting at 6.00 pm in the municipal auditorium "Folktronica/Electrofolk" will be held, an electric shock in traditional music with Sonus Insulae Sardinia, Tenore di Ovodda, Julien Cartonnet, Sa Teula Lodine.

Among the guests of the evening also Francesco Capuzzi, electronic engineer and inventor of the "Electroneddas".

«They are an electronic instrument that reproduces both the sound and playability of the launeddas instrument», explains Capuzzi. The engineer began playing traditional launeddas in 2002 then developed the idea and worked hard to create an electronic version. «The presentation of the first project in public dates back to 2007», continues Capuzzi.

The latest Electroneddas prototype will be shown in Ovodda: «There have been three different stable models, and this is the third in which the hardware and software have changed, and it comes even closer to the traditional instrument. I will show the Elettroneddas to the public and explain how they work", says the creator.

Technology is constantly advancing and the next step for Electroneddas could involve the wireless connection between controller and synthesizer. The event is organized by the Sonàla Folk association chaired by Fabio Calzia. After the Ovodda stage, the festival will move to close in Lodine on 29 December with Bovedas and Muros, polyphonic architecture and devotional music, in the church of San Giorgio, at 9.30pm. The 2023 edition of Sonala Folk is sponsored by the Sardinia Region, Sardegna Turismo, Sonàla musical association, Insulae Lab, Municipality of Ovodda, Municipality of Lodine, Authentic Villages of Italy.
