Fashion designer Renato Balestra has died at the age of 98

The doyen of high fashion was 98 years old .
The daughters Fabiana and Federica together with their niece Sofia gave the announcement of the death: the management of the famous brand will go to the three of them .
The funeral will be held on Tuesday 29 November in the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome.
Originally from Trieste, Balestra moved to Rome in 1954 and began working for Emilio Schubert, Maria Antonelli and the Fontana sisters. In 1958 he began to present his collections in the USA and in 1959 he opened his first atelier in Rome. It was the beginning of a great career, studded with important awards, which would make him one of the most important Italian stylists .
