The funeral of Issey Miyake, the famous Japanese designer who died on August 5th, has already taken place. The news was given only now, as per his will.

84 years old, it seems he had been ill for some time. From the mid-seventies, together with a group of young Japanese designers, he had begun to get noticed on the catwalks of Paris and his name remains linked to the first high-tech garments, therefore more distant from haute couture, which have had a great success as well as his research on materials and his unmistakable ability to combine tradition and novelty.

He was born in Hiroshima in 1938, and survived the atomic bomb, he was only seven years old at the time.

He is also known by the general public for having designed the famous black turtleneck by Steve Jobs.
