The Sardinian entertainment world is mourning the death of singer-songwriter Mario Fabiani. He was 69 years old and had been battling a serious illness for some time.
Born in Cagliari in 1955, his registered name was Mario Macciocco, while Fabiani was his stage name, chosen at random from a telephone directory.
After his debut in the 1970s with the group “Il gioco”, he achieved success as a soloist at the beginning of the 1980s with the song “Stella Stella”, also placing second at the Festivalbar.
During his career he has dedicated albums and songs to the talassemic association, to Avis and also to Cagliari Calcio and has collaborated in the creation of the music for numerous commercials and television programs.
