Faith, music and solidarity at the center of the "Concert for Peace" scheduled for Friday 29 April, in the Cathedral of Sassari , with the performance of the "Luigi Canepa" choral association.

The concert, starting at 20.30, includes the performance of the Requiem in D minor by Gabriel Fauré, op. 48, for solos, choir, orchestra and organ.

The concert will be opened by the children's choir prepared by Salvatore Rizzu : "A non-random choice, considering that the first victims of wars are children, brutally catapulted into a terrible nightmare", explains the president of the Association, Federico Tolu . "With this concert we want to strengthen our message of peace in music, as an instrument of dialogue between peoples and nations around the world".

The protagonists will be the two choirs of Canepa, while the solo parts will be entrusted to the soprano Maria Ladu and the baritone Francesco Solinas , accompanied by the Enarmonia Orchestra of Sassari, conducted by Luca Sirigu .

Due to the high significance of the event, curated by Canepa together with the Archdiocese of Sassari and the Academy Foundation, home of peoples, cultures and religions, Unicef wanted to grant its patronage together with the Province and the Municipality of Sassari.

The concert for peace, with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture and the Region of Sardinia, will have free admission until all seats are exhausted.

To access the cathedral it will be necessary to show the reinforced green pass and wear the Ffp2 mask.
