Cagliari, Alghero and Bono. These are the three capitals for the 2025 edition of Sa Die de sa Sardigna, with the memory of the events of April 28, 1794 and the “expulsion of the Piedmontese” that will be the backdrop to the day of the Sardinian people, the fixed and heartfelt celebration of the period. In the capital, space is given to the memories of the uprisings of 331 years ago, Alghero, home of Vincenzo Sulis and Bono, the town of Giovanni Maria Angioy.
"It is a day of the Sardinian people", reiterated Ilaria Portas, regional councilor for Education, in the presentation of the events. "This year the Region has decided to finance three symbolic municipalities. We think that it is necessary not only to know and remember, but also to make Sa Die de sa Sardigna walk on the legs and heads of our boys and girls . Therefore, it is necessary that our history is remembered in schools, but above all, the involvement of the new generations is important".
On the day of the celebration, April 28, the school children will be welcomed into the Regional Council for the official celebration. "My dream is that Cagliari will return to being the scene of the celebration of the uprisings," said Portas . "For us who lived it, it was truly an immersion in the climate of revolution and also of the pride of the Sardinian people. I hope that in these five years of our mandate we can also bring that representation back to Cagliari."
The program in Cagliari includes Sunday 27 at 6:30 pm, in the Arco di Palabanda recently renovated by the Municipality, the baptism - in Italian and Sardinian - of the plaque commemorating the uprisings. Followed by a torchlight procession in the center and a flash mob under the Bastion, which will be colored red. Sa Die de sa Sardigna is celebrated on April 28 in Piazza del Carmine (from 8 pm) with readings and music with Andrea Porcu, Claudia Aru, Franca Masu and Andrea Andrillo . But also in the afternoon there is itinerant music scheduled in the streets of the center.
