Alain Delon would have decided to resort to euthanasia.

This was confirmed by the actor's son, who turned 86 in November and who had suffered a stroke three years ago from which he is recovering with great difficulty. The Frenchman has been living in Switzerland for some time, where he obtained citizenship and where euthanasia is legal: "From a certain age, everyone must have the right to leave in peace", he said some time ago in an interview, defining the euthanasia "the most logical and natural thing".

Anthony Delon, interviewed by French radio RTL, told of a promise made to his father: that of accompanying him on his last trip and organizing everything, when the actor chooses to end his life. On the other hand, he did not agree to be the executor of the will, which his sister will do instead.

According to Anthony, his father Alain made this decision after being particularly upset by the death of Anthony's ex-wife and mother, Nathalie, who died last year of pancreatic cancer. The woman had chosen euthanasia even if "fortunately" it was not necessary: "I say fortunately because everything was ready. It is true that it would have been difficult to hold her hand and see her leave life like this. So I'm not saying the last night was easy, but the last few hours were easy because she left in peace. And my father was very impressed by this ".

For five years, then, Delon has had to deal with the lack of his lifelong partner, the French actress and icon of the sixties and seventies Mireille Darc, who died in 2017 after a long illness.
