Sardinia Regional President Alessandra Todde will meet tomorrow with Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti to discuss the Eurallumina dispute in Portovesme. Todde herself announced the meeting, emphasizing that "a decisive step must be taken within her Ministry."

The president reiterated the Region's support for the workers who, for the second consecutive night, protested on a forty-meter-high silo, demanding the release of funds needed to pay salaries and maintain the facilities. The payment freeze is linked to the financial sanctions imposed by the Financial Security Committee against Rusal, the Russian multinational that manages the plant.

Todde has been following the plight of the Sulcis workers for years: "From 2020, when I was undersecretary at the Ministry of Economic Development with responsibility for industrial crises, until today, in various capacities, I have always worked to ensure that a complex situation like that of Eurallumina finally had a concrete solution. My sympathy remains the same as it was then, it goes out to all the workers experiencing a difficult situation," she stated, recalling the symbolic gesture of receiving the Eurallumina helmet from Antonello Pirotto, a longtime figure of the protest.
