The unions Filctem Cgil, Femca Cisl and Uiltec express concern after the latest events involving Eurallumina: the temporary freezing of accounts in the context of the measures against Russia and the reactivation following the company's appeal. The acronyms urge the Region of Sardinia and the government to "do their part".

«Eurallumina - they explain - has a procedure for issuing the Paur with the Region to which an investment plan of around 300 million euros and the involvement of 1500 male and female workers is linked. It is necessary for the regional institutions to be as swift as possible so that everything can be resolved quickly by defining the times and methods for getting the gas to Sardinia, an indispensable condition for restarting production and not least, indeed, the simultaneous commitment to signing as soon as possible of the addendum to the Fundamental Memorandum of Understanding for the safety of the wages of male and female workers until the complete restart of the plants".

«The freeze on the accounts, later lifted, could have had a devastating consequence for the activity that the company carries out in Portovesme, for the workers and for the companies that continue to work, as well as for the environment - add the territorial secretariats del Sulcis announcing a meeting on August 1 between the prefect and the state property agency - We are at the paradox. Because the sanctions against Russia do not penalize that country or even those companies but only the workers of the Sulcis Iglesiente, the companies that work within the Eurallumina and jeopardize the ongoing reclamation work of the aquifer that the same workers have been carrying out responsibly and professionally for years 24 hours a day and every day, 365 days a year".

For this reason, the trade unions reiterate that "it is necessary that this situation be remedied and an immediate and structural solution be adopted to prevent it from recurring".
