Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani confirmed themselves as champions of the Italian Internationals for the second year in a row.
In the women's doubles final, the Italians, reigning Olympic champions, defeated the pair formed by Kudermetova and Mertens with a score of 6-4, 7-5.
Both sets won after sensational comebacks. The Italians, down 4-0 in the first set, win it with six games in a row. Similar script in the second, at least until 4 all. Errani and Paolini recover from 0-4, but then Kudermetova and Mertens win the ninth game and fail to take advantage of a match point in the tenth, then capitulate with the Italians who win the last three games and close 7-5.
A dream edition of the Internazionali d'Italia for Paolini, who yesterday won the singles final under the eyes of Sergio Mattarella.
And at 5pm it's Sinner's turn, who challenges Alcaraz in the final to give Italy its third title.
