Ernesto Assante, historic journalist of Repubblica and point of reference for Italian music journalism, has died in Rome. He was 66 years old, celebrated his birthday on February 12th. The newspaper's website announces it.

Born in Naples in 1958, after his collaboration with Il manifesto he began writing for Repubblica, where he was a correspondent until 2021 and responsible for the supplements Musica, Computer Valley and Computer, Internet e Altro. He directed McLink and Kataweb.

On TV he has been a consultant and author of numerous programs, including Sanremo.
