One of the most important contemporary writers, Emmanuel Carrère, arrives on Saturday 6 May at the Porto Cervo Conference Center. And it will do so to receive the 2023 Costa Smeralda International Award.

The great French writer is also appreciated for his work as a screenwriter and director, but above all he is the author of masterpieces such as "Lives that are not mine", "Limonov" and "The opponent" (2013) and published in Italy by Adelphi with which the awaited "V13", the book that collects his judicial story relating to the 2015 Bataclan massacre, will be released on March 14th.

The award is promoted by the Costa Smeralda Consortium, chaired by Renzo Persico with the artistic direction of Stefano Salis. Two awarded categories, Fiction and Nonfiction (with three finalists and one overall winner), selected by a jury composed of Lina Bolzoni, Marcello Fois, Elena Loewenthal and Chiara Valerio.

In addition to the books chosen by the jury, three further awards are foreseen: the Mediterranean Culture Award, assigned to a personality who has distinguished himself for the enhancement of the cultures of our sea and the peoples who inhabit it.
