Elly Schlein is in Nuoro this morning for the first stage of her electoral tour in Sardinia in support of the Democratic candidate for the European elections, Angela Quaquero.

In her speech to Isre, the secretary of the Democratic Party said: «Sardinia gave itself back hope only a few months ago with the victory of Alessandra Todde and the progressive camp, now we need a lot of momentum to continue on this path in the administrative elections for Cagliari, Sassari and Alghero".

«We are putting our utmost effort into it – he added – so much so that I will be at the top of the list in the Islands constituency. We are here to firmly support Angela Quaquero and we want to demonstrate our closeness to this land and bring hope to those who think that voting doesn't make a difference."

On the topic of renewables, however, «it is not with the speculation of multinationals that cover our regions with wind and photovoltaic that we will make the energy transition, but by involving local populations and letting them decide where and how to make the transition ».

Schlein was welcomed in Nuoro, where she arrived just before midday, by the regional secretary of the Democratic Party Piero Comandini, and president of the regional council, and the provincial secretary Giuseppe Ciccolini.

After Nuoro, for Schlein stops in Nuraghe Losa, Porto Ferro and then in Alghero with the mayoral candidate Raimondo Cacciotto and in Sassari with the aspiring mayor Giuseppe Mascia.
