« The Einstein Telescope is an extraordinary opportunity for Lula and for the entire Nuoro area , because it is not only a scientific project of national and international interest, but it is an opportunity to bring together common factors in an overall development plan that looks to infrastructure, roads, railways, schools, universities, healthcare".
The president of the Region Alessandra Todde said this on the occasion of the conference "Lula and the territory meet ET", which took place in the Barbagia town.
The governor then announced the short establishment of a control room for the coordination of initiatives on the Einstein Telescope: "All-round initiatives - she specified -, infrastructural, urban planning which concern economic development, the scientific and university part". «I must say - added Todde - that we are carrying out a loyal collaboration with the Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini , who believed in the project right from the start. This territory needs concrete changes that guarantee a discontinuity with the past, which give hope and trust to this area and to all of Sardinia."
The meeting was an opportunity for debate and comparison between science, politics and territory to begin creating the operational bases so that the Einstein Telescope can finally be born in Lula, in the heart of Sardinia. Participating in the conference were, among others, the mayor Mario Calia, the leaders of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (Infn), Marco Pallavicini, Nando Minnella and Carlo Giunghi, Professor Marica Branchesi of the Gran Sasso Science Institute, Professor Filippo Zerbi , scientific director of the National Institute of Astrophysics and Carlo Giunchi of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology.
