Eco-sustainability, high quality materials and innovative ideas: the Sardinian Nautical Fair in Porto Rotondo
There are 118 exhibitors on show. Chessa: «Growing sector with important employment effects»Eco-sustainability, high quality materials and innovative ideas: these are the keywords of the 118 exhibitors present at the Sardinian Nautical Fair , inaugurated in Porto Rotondo .
The stands wind along the promenade of the Marina pier and welcome the many enthusiasts and onlookers who already went to Porto Rotondo from the first hours of opening of the event, organized and promoted by Cipnes in collaboration with the Regional Tourism Department .
On display, from the latest generation engines that aim to reduce emissions, to companies that offer charter services and organize trips on ultra-luxury yachts , up to those who make clothing from waste materials such as sails and umbrellas.
The offer of the stands of the Fair is varied: there is no lack of artistic craftsmanship linked to the sea such as the creations in red coral or those linked to the territory, such as in cork. But all have in common the concern for the environment.
«The first edition of the Fair, organized in the tourist port of Olbia, had recorded thousands of visitors, this year too we expect a substantial number of visitors confirming the attention that this sector holds in Sardinia among operators and enthusiasts» the words of Gianni Chessa , regional councilor for tourism.
«A sector in constant expansion with important repercussions also in terms of employment – added Chessa – For Sardinia, the economy linked to the sea represents a basin of great prospects and this trade fair event contributes to generating adequate promotion, proposing Sardinia as coveted destination. The goal is to transform it into an exceptional nautical center in the Mediterranean. We must consolidate our tourist offer in order to establish ourselves definitively as a reference destination for national and international flows. Gallura is obviously the ideal location for this initiative, but we don't rule out creating other opportunities to promote boating in other areas of the island».
During the event, both shipbuilding and tourist ports will be showcased, with discussions on the management of tourist ports, construction of yachts, nautical hotels, innovation and eco-sustainability. In addition to the debates, there will be ample space for art, fashion, sport and entertainment.
«The Region believes in the importance of the economy linked to the sea – recalled the Regional Councilor for the Budget, Giuseppe Fasolino , who participated in the cutting of the inaugural ribbon of the Fair – Boating , in particular for Gallura, represents a driving sector , with important employment effects, therefore we must consolidate a model to be exported everywhere».
