On Monday, April 6th, in celebration of Easter Monday, tables will be set up at the Tazenda concert venue in Sant'Antonio Park: a moment of conviviality and sharing open to the entire community. For seniors who are unable or unable to travel to the venue, shuttles will be organized by the Segariu Civil Protection Association and the non-profit organization Il Fiume dei Sorrisi. The Tazenda group will perform at 5:30 pm; admission is free.

Meanwhile, today, the Rite of Investiture of the Riflemen will take place, which includes the blessing and presentation to participants by the parish priest, Father Alessandro Manca, of symbolic pins and handkerchiefs that they will tie to the butt of their rifles as a sign of devotion. The pins and handkerchiefs will be returned the following week and kept until the following year, symbolizing the continuity of the rite. Tomorrow, Easter Sunday, during the rite of S'Incontru, the riflemen—who symbolize the soldiers guarding Christ's tomb—will announce to the community the joy of the Resurrection.

But, while in the Gospels the soldiers fall stunned by fear, in the Segariu rite their figure is "redeemed": thus the blank shots are no longer a sign of defense or release of tension and fear, but a true festive salute, a thunderous jubilation for Christ the Savior who has conquered death.
