The clash over differentiated autonomy continues, with the staff of 5 regions working to oppose the Calderoli-led reform. Sardinia, the only one with a special statute in the group, is the leader. The meeting between technicians is scheduled for this week, to study the details of the referendum question.
In recent days, meanwhile, telephone contacts and exchanges between Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Puglia, Campania and the island are intensifying, on the draft drawn up by the Region led by Stefano Bonaccini , who will have to hand in his resignation in just over a week as governor, for the European Parliament. The governor of Sardinia , Alessandra Todde, also reiterated yesterday the Region's intention to follow the path of challenging the reform before the Constitutional Court in parallel: «A prerogative - she clarified - which belongs to Sardinia being a Region with an autonomous statute and has greater possibilities."
On this point the discussion is intense, even if - as specified by the governor - «the path is more delicate. If the Regions with ordinary statute are transformed into Regions that can negotiate their prerogatives on paper, in fact our specialty is completely watered down."
