“Devotos e Devozione” in Ghilarza appointment with popular music
Alongside the songs, there is also the preparation of food as a thank you
Two days in Ghilarza for the thirty-seventh edition of Popular Music Meetings , the event organized in the town of Guilcier by the Onnigaza Group.
The appointment is at the municipal auditorium for 8 and 11 December , on both days at 17 . " Devotos and Devotion " is the theme chosen for this edition. For some years, in fact, the kermesse has been opening up to other themes in addition to that of oral tradition music.
For the 2022 edition , some forms of devotion expressed through songs and traditional music and the preparation of food as thanksgiving will be explored.
The initiative of the Onnigaza Group, once again, sees the collaboration of the regional ethnographic higher institute.
THE PROGRAM – It starts on Thursday 8 December . Marcello Marras and Marinella Marras will talk about devotion to music in the Ghilarza tradition. Marcello Marras , anthropologist, will propose a speech on the sacred sounds and songs of Ghilarza's male repertoires, while Marinella Marras , historian of popular traditions, will intervene proposing some observations and reflections related to the repertoires of women's sung prayers . With particular reference to the Ghilarza community, we will talk about songs, novenas, the transformations that have taken place in recent decades, some practices that have now disappeared.
Sunday, again at 5pm in the municipal auditorium, in collaboration with the Higher Ethnographic Institute of Nuoro, the film " S'Impinnu " will be screened (The vote) by Ignazio Figus and Cosimo Zene , preceded by a presentation by the director Ignazio Figus. The film, produced by the regional ethnographic institute, recounts the preparations that are repeated every year in Nule to fulfill the commitment, taken as a vow of thanks, by Antonio Manca who returned safely from the Crimean War. A descendant of Antonio Manca, Antonianzela, continues to respect the same who for several days, helped in various forms by her fellow villagers who offer food, money and work, directs all the work so that for the feast of Sant'Antonio the bread and the cheese can be redistributed to the entire population and so the vote can be dissolved once more.
