Parma – An invisible bridge connects Sardinia to Emilia-Romagna. It is a bond made of stories, faces and voices that cross time and distances, telling the story of Sardinian emigration and its ability to transform deep roots into new beginnings. This is the heart of “D'Istanti. Volti e voci di Sardegna”, the project of the Circolo Culturale Grazia Deledda of Parma.
SARDINIAN CULTURE AND NEW PERSPECTIVES
Born thanks to the funding of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia , within the call for the valorization of the identity and knowledge of Sardinian culture for women and young people, “D'Istanti. Volti e voci di Sardegna” celebrates a community that has been able to face change without ever forgetting its own identity. With a modern format, which includes videos and podcasts accessible to all on the website www.circolograziadeledda.it and on the Spotify platform, the project intends to bring to light the stories of those who have left their homeland, transforming nostalgia into a creative force. Furthermore, this inclusive approach is strengthened by translations in LIS (Italian Sign Language), as an invitation to rediscover the importance of roots, not as a constraint, but as a resource to move forward and enrich one's path wherever one is.
THE PROJECT
“Telling these experiences means giving voice to those who had the courage to leave and the talent to start over,” - explains Massimiliano Testoni , originally from Bonorva and president of the Circolo Culturale Grazia Deledda, an association active for over 30 years in Parma - “today our clubs are not only places of comfort, but cultural embassies that promote Sardinian identity with innovation”.
The project is divided into four episodes, hosted by Laura Scanu , a young second-generation Sardinian, born and raised in the province of Parma by parents originally from Nulvi and Orune. Laura guides the viewer through the stories of those who chose to leave Sardinia and found a new place to call home in Parma and the Emilia region , dealing with central themes of Sardinian emigration: the relationship between work and opportunity, the stories of second-generation children who keep the bond with Sardinia alive and the dialogue between traditions and new cultures, demonstrating how the encounter between different identities enriches the community.
THE FIRST EPISODE: “TRAVEL AND CREATIVITY”
