In Italy, hospitalizations for Covid-19 are increasing, both in ordinary wards and in intensive care.
This is highlighted by the weekly ISS-Ministry of Health monitoring on the progress of the epidemic.
According to the report, the employment rate in intensive care rose to 2.2% (Ministry of Health daily survey as of June 23) compared to 1.9% the previous week (Ministry daily survey as of June 16).
The employment rate in medical areas nationwide rose to 7.9% (daily survey on 23 June) compared to 6.7% last week (daily survey on 16 June).
Again on the basis of ISS data, in Italy the incidence and transmissibility index Rt still rise : in the period 1 June - 14 June, the average Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was equal to 1.07 (range 0.76-1.48 ), an increase compared to the previous week, when it was equal to 0.83 and above the epidemic threshold.
The weekly incidence at the national level also increases: 504 per 100,000 inhabitants (17/06/2022 -23/06/2022) against 310 per 100,000 inhabitants (10/06/2022 -16/06/2022).
The incidence of Covid cases rises above 500 per 100 thousand inhabitants in 8 Regions : Abruzzo (533.1), Emilia Romagna (512.0), Friuli Venezia Giulia (552.4), Lazio (672.7), Sardinia ( 680.7) , Sicily (563.2), Umbria (560.9) and Veneto (623.0). The highest value is therefore that of Sardinia .
