Björn Larsson, Adrian Paci and Giorgio Spanu. But not only that. The Costa Smeralda Award reveals the faces of 2025. This morning in Milan the new edition of the event was presented, of which Smeralda Holding is a partner and main sponsor. An event in which, in addition to the winners of the special prizes, the triplets of the finalists of the Fiction and Non-Fiction sections were announced.
The two overall winners of the 2025 Costa Smeralda Award will be announced on April 26 at the Porto Cervo Conference Center during the awards ceremony hosted by journalist Roberta Floris.
Meanwhile today, in the presence of Renzo Persico and Mario Ferraro, president and vice president of the Costa Smeralda Consortium, and Stefano Salis, artistic director of the Award, the recipients of the other awards were announced: Björn Larsson, who will receive the International Award, Adrian Paci, who will win the Mediterranean Culture Award, and Giorgio Spanu, winner of the Special Award.
As for the 2025 finalists, Claudia Lanteri (with her first novel “L'isola e il tempo”), Wanda Marasco (“Di spalle a questo mondo”) and Fiammetta Palpati (“La casa delle orfane bianche”) are running for Fiction, while Giuseppe Antonelli (with “Il mago delle parole”), Riccardo Falcinelli (“Visus. Storie del volto dall'antichità al selfie”) and Tommaso Spazzini Villa (“Self-portraits”) are competing for Non-Fiction.
The decision was made by a high-quality jury led by Stefano Salis and composed of Lina Bolzoni, Marcello Fois, Elena Loewenthal and Chiara Valerio , who had a hard time identifying winners and finalists from the vast panorama of Italian editorial production over the last year.
