Given last year's success with Donizetti's "L'elisir d'amore", the "Luigi Canepa" Conservatory of Sassari is also entrusting the opening of the 2024-2025 academic year to an original opera production. "Così fan tutte", a comic opera by Mozart with a libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte, will be performed on Saturday 8 February at the Teatro Comunale di Sassari starting at 6:00 p.m. The opera will also have a youth preview on Friday at 10:00 a.m. and a repeat on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. All shows will be free.
The orchestra, composed of about forty elements, will be formed by the students of the Sassari music institute, as well as some former students and teachers. Like two years ago, the concertmaster and director will be Andrea Certa, teacher of Piano Accompaniment, and the direction is entrusted to Giovanni Scandella , also author of the scenes, teacher of Theory and technique of scenic interpretation.
The soloists Carlotta Doppiu (Fiordiligi), Aurora Carta (Dorabella), Filiberto Bruno (Guglielmo), Murat Can Guvem (Ferrando), Alessia Cozzolino (Despina), Marco Solinas (Don Alfonso) and the Conservatory Choir prepared by the Score Reading teacher Clara Antoniciello will take to the stage . The costumes are by Carla Galleri and the lighting design by Marcello D'Agostino.
On the evening of February 8, between the two acts of the opera, the award “Una sinfonia per…” will be presented for the fifth edition, destined to a Sardinian personality of culture who has brought prestige to the territory. The prestigious honor was assigned this year to the guitarist Filomena Moretti .
