Antonio Cassano is struggling with Covid. The former footballer tested positive and spent the last days of 2021 and early 2022 in solitary confinement.
A few days ago he ended up in hospital for complications, he is hospitalized in the infectious diseases department of San Martino in Genoa and followed by the team of Professor Matteo Bassetti.
Cassano had tested positive just before Christmas, then his condition worsened and the decision to take him to hospital. However, his conditions do not raise particular concerns, the former Roma and Sampdoria could be resigned as early as tomorrow.
"When he arrived he had a saturation of 95", said the general director of San Martino Salvatore Giuffrida.
Carolina Marcialis, wife of the former football player, confirmed the news but lashed out against some sites according to which the Bari talent is not vaccinated, saying instead that he made the two doses.
"I got a good scare, but it went well. I'm happy to be able to go home", the words of the player. "He did 2 doses of the vaccine - Bassetti underlined - and therefore did not have bilateral interstitial pneumonia. Cassano felt unwell and was very worried. But in a couple of days everything was resolved".
