Coma_Cose have split up: "We were only a couple on stage now; it's time to walk alone."

«Well yes… Fausto and Francesca have broken up».

With a post on the official Coma_Cose page, Fausto Lama and Francesca Mesiano, aka California, announce the end of their relationship.

"It was a unanimous decision that came about over the last few months, in which we preferred to keep the matter private to process it and respect all our various commitments," it reads. " The truth is that we have never stopped in these years and we have taken too many things for granted . The great work synergy gradually cannibalized our private life, which inevitably faded away. And the closer we got to the date we had set to put the Coma_cose project on hold and take back some time for ourselves, the more we understood that by now we were just a couple on stage and there was really nothing left to resume ."
It's been an amazing 10 years, a daydream that's brought us to people, places, and situations we couldn't have even imagined. We thank everyone who supported us and whose lives intersected with our music, and everyone we've worked with. You'll always be a part of a fundamental part of our lives. Love transforms, and so it was for ours, too. We'll always be something special and unique. 'Goodbye is not a possibility,' says a song, and since there's no hard feelings between us, we'll do everything we can to stay in touch. Now, however, it's time to walk alone , each on our own path, and rediscover ourselves with the melancholy we feel when we part, but with the awareness of a new world opening up before us. Thank you, it's been beautiful.

The musical future of the indie duo, formed in Milan in 2016 and a phenomenon in 2021 with "Fiamme negli occhi" at the Sanremo Music Festival, is now uncertain. Then came "L'addio" two years later, during which rumors of a romantic crisis had been resolved, and this year another boom with "Cuoricini." In between, they've released four albums, played dozens of concerts and summer tours. And got married just a year ago.

Last Saturday, they had withdrawn from Francesca Michielin's concert "for personal reasons," where they were among the announced guests. The announcement of the end of their relationship was followed by the cancellation of their two upcoming arena dates : the concert on October 27th at the Assago Forum and the one on the 30th at the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome.
