And in the background the Doria castle, pearl of one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The event “Cuochi in piazza” will take place in Castelsardo.

The event is scheduled for March 29 and 30. Two intense days, full of initiatives and debates. "We want to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Sardinian Chefs Association in this way," says Fausto Tavera, chef and organizer. "Furthermore, we will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Sassari Province Chefs Association, of which I am president. For this reason, chefs from all over Italy will come."

«These two days fall by right under the “Sardegna Terra d'aMare” brand», specifies the president of the Sassari chefs' association .

"For the many chefs arriving from the Peninsula, it will be an opportunity for training but above all to explore an incredible territory. That's why we thought of boat trips, among other things, perhaps for lobster fishing. The catch will then be cooked in a suggestive setting like the Doria castle". Tavera specifies: "We want to give legs, this time too, to our tried and tested format of "Sardegna Terra d'aMare". We are talking about a path born in Alghero that is crossing the entire north-west coast of the island".

From March 29th to 30th the group of chefs will go to discover Castelsardo, a captivating nature, its sea with breathtaking shades . And first of all those products that are the basis of magical dishes. Yes, quality raw materials that give life to recipes that help tell a wonderful story, an experience. After all, today the tourist to be conquered appears more and more demanding. The uncontaminated nature and the postcard sea are no longer enough.

"We want to give visitors an unforgettable experience," says Fausto Tavera. "The goal of our association is to promote and enhance both the culinary tradition of our country, through the wise use of typical products, and the enhancement of raw materials that are little known or little used in cooking. Furthermore, we also want to highlight the mastery of our artisans, habits and customs. Therefore, ample space will also be given to entertainment with popular songs and traditional dances. This is why on Saturday evening at 7 pm the singer-songwriter from Bolotana, Maria Giovanna Cherchi, will be present with her show. On Sunday at 5 pm, instead, space will be given to the comedian from Sassari Marco Bazzoni, known to all as Baz."

Food and wine tourism today represents a new way of traveling. A tool to be seized and exploited to win over an ever-increasing number of visitors, enthusiasts. Above all, to go beyond the summer season and reveal pearls like Castelsardo all year round, as the regional councilor for Tourism, Franco Cuccureddu, loves to repeat. The representative of the regional council led by Alessandra Todde is among the first supporters of the event “Cuochi in piazza”. On March 29 and 30, faithful to the slogan “Sardegna Terra d'aMare”, chefs arriving from all over the Peninsula will meet in Castelsardo. Then, there will be expert pizza chefs, journalists, companies, producers in the tourism and food and wine sector. Obviously the consumers, lovers of good, zero-mile food.

The organizer Fausto Tavera does not hide : «We want to promote our land, specifically the north-west of the island, focusing on the excellence of the territory. Then, enhance the local agri-food chain through tastings and show-cooking. Therefore, we intend to increase experiential tourism by offering unique moments to discover the Gulf of Asinara and the great cultural heritage of the historical region of Anglona. Finally, we like to raise awareness of professional training».

The event “Cuochi in piazza” is promoted by the Sardinia chefs association . It is instead curated by the chefs association of the province of Sassari with the brand "Sardegna Terra d'Amare", in collaboration with the Municipality and the Pro-loco of Castelsardo, the Region, the Chamber of Commerce of Sassari and Smeralda Consulting.
