Farewell to Raffaella Carrà and Franco Battiato, the Maneskins, but also the tennis player Matteo Berrettini, the European football championships and Donnarumma, the premier Mario Draghi, the Spid, the Zan bill. And the ways to book the Covid vaccine.

This is what Italians searched for on Google in the second year marked by the pandemic, as stated in the report released every year by the search engine called "A Year of Research 2021".

In the list of the most typed words by Italians in the last 12 months there are those related to the world of entertainment and the characters who have left us. Raffaella Carrà and Franco Battiato, the doctor and founder of Emergency Gino Strada, the etoile Carla Fracci, Milva the "red" of the Italian song, but also the former competitor of Amici Michele Merlo and the actor Libero De Rienzo. And also the Maneskin, triumphant in Sanremo, at the Eurovision Song Contest and rapidly rising all over the world.

Sport is not lacking: among the top words the European football championships and the Danish footballer suffering from cardiac arrest on the field Christian Eriksen, Champions League, Serie A, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and Matteo Berrettini. Among the characters of 2021 who have marked the peak of traffic on the search engine there are still many sportsmen such as Donnarumma, the goalkeeper of the national team, formerly of Milan, now at Paris Saint-Germain; the young Italian tennis player Janik Sinner, the swimmer Federica Pellegrini, the sprinter Marcell Jacobs gold medal at the Olympics. And there is politics with the current Prime Minister Mario Draghi and the former Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.

There is also a list entirely dedicated to Covid-19: consider Green pass in first place, followed by Book the anti-Covid vaccine, AstraZeneca, Curfew, Orange zone. In the section "How to do it?" always appears Green Pass, vaccine and also the Spid. In that “What does it mean”, there is the Enhanced Red Zone, endemic and Ffp2; but also transgender and Ddl Zan, the bill against homotransphobia blocked by the Senate just over a month ago.
