Sports judge Gerardo Mastandrea has dismissed the case regarding the alleged racist comments made by Cagliari player Alberto Dossena towards Udinese player Keinan Davis during the Serie A match played on May 9 in the Sardinian capital.
The disputed incident occurred towards the end of the match, when the Friuli striker complained to the referee that he had received discriminatory insults from the opposing defender.
“This cowardly racist called me a monkey during the match,” Davis later wrote on social media. “I hope Serie A does something about it, but we’ll see.”
The sports judge opted to archive the case "given the documentation received from the Federal Prosecutor's Office, which does not provide any evidence that unequivocally clarifies the content of the comments addressed by Dossena to Davis."
