A Fiorentina fan was arrested for injuring a Cagliari Digos policeman on Monday evening in Viale dei Mille, where before the championship match won by the Tuscans over the Sardinians there were scuffles between the Viola and Rossoblu fans.
The man, a 26-year-old from Prato, with his face hidden by a balaclava, allegedly threw a stone at the officer. The images of the video surveillance cameras installed in the area framed him, and the young man was betrayed by his clothing.
Aggravated injuries, possession of pyrotechnics and throwing dangerous material at sporting events: these are the charges on which he was arrested. The Viola fan was also reported for affray and misrepresentation. The officer escaped with injuries that could be healed in a few days.
On this occasion, around thirty Sardinian fans were identified as being at risk of Daspo: they apparently deviated from the route defined by the Police Headquarters and, once they encountered the opposing fans, clashes broke out, quelled by the riot police intervention.
